I have yet another installment of my Appropriate Glam series, which you all seemed to enjoy! Today I am talking/typing about school makeup. I know that school makeup is different for everyone, based on age, permission, comfort-level, etc. but I think there are just a few guidelines to follow and I will also give you my suggestions!
First off, here is my first back-to-school makeup tutorial! Watch it if you want a how-to natural makeup style video!
Anyways, here are my thoughts on school makeup!
I think that sixth grade is a little young to be wearing makeup, but if you and your parents are okay with it, then maybe a little lip gloss on special occasions.
For seventh grade I think it is okay start to play around with makeup. If your skin is problematic, I suggest a lightweight foundation or a concealer. I also suggest a little bit of soft pink blush is great for waking up your face and giving you a girly flush. Mascara and lip gloss are all you need to finish off your look. I say to keep it natural, avoid eyeliner and dark eye shadow and anything to out there!
Eighth grade is when most girls start to wear a full face of makeup, you know foundation, eye shadow, the works… Anyways. I recommend foundation/concealer for problematic skin and to cover imperfections, but if you have clear skin, great! Embrace that! I would stick to a natural blush, something pinky or a peach, depending on your skin tone and preferences. I suggest that you keep the eye shadow minimal, you can play around, but nothing crazy! I would say to skip the eyeliner if you are going for a subtle look, you don’t want raccoon eyes! I say add a coat of mascara to boost your lashes and lip gloss for shine and be done!
I say that pretty much anything you want to wear works. I personally prefer to stay on the natural side of things but that is just me. It is entirely up to you, but I really think that the smokey eyes and red lips should be left for a night out, not English class! But if you are bold enough to wear something on the crazier side, by all means do!
I hope you all have enjoyed my second appropriate glam post! I have a lot of fun writing these, so leave any requests down below!
