I remember that back in my freshman and sophomore years of high school (sigh) the Revlon ColorStay foundation and the CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 foundation were my unfailing go-to base products. I never really lost touch with my Revlon baby, but when I ran out of my CoverGirl Outlast, a second bottle just never cycled back into my makeup drawer.
A few days ago, the inclination hit me full-throttle to repurchase this product and give it another shake. So, sans all prompting, I went to Ulta and grabbed a fresh bottle to put to the test once more. After all, I’ve tried numerous foundations and base products since that time, and my opinion may very well have changed over time.
Here’s the kicker: it hasn’t! I broke this bad boy out again, eager to see how it functioned with my skin and the current sweltering climate of my home state, only to find myself absolutely shellshocked and pleased once more. This stuff smooths on like a dream, covers extremely well, and lasts ALL. DAMN. DAY. It doesn’t budge, smear, or cake up as the day goes on and the temperature rises. I can slap this on with a buffing brush (I like this one from E.L.F.) at 6:00 in the morning, which is when I usually get ready after going to the gym and showering, and it will last with no need for touch ups until the late hours. I haven’t worn this for an entire 24 hours — and I don’t recommend ever really wearing makeup for that long unless you absolutely must — but I can get a very solid 16 or 18 hours from this foundation with no trouble.
It also doesn’t break me out or emphasize any spots or dry patches on my skin, as some long-wearing products tend to do.
You can buy CoverGirl’s Outlast Foundation here! I would highly recommend you give it a go if you like medium to full coverage that looks natural, stays in place all day, and won’t break the bank! I’m really glad that I’ve got this gem in my collection once more because I have a feeling she won’t be absent again.
