In the last four or so months, I’ve started to really take my health more seriously and began to make some lifestyle changes (some drastic, some minor) in order to lead a healthier, happier lifestyle. It didn’t go unnoticed for long, so my 19th birthday gift from my father was a FitBit Alta (with the purple wristband because he likes purple so apparently I must also like purple by proxy). I’d been wanting one of these gadgets for a while and was very excited at the prospect of having my own.
Turns out, I’m a huge fan! I’ve really been aiming to hit the gym at least 4 times a week and trying for 10,000 steps a day when I can, which ends up being a lot harder than it sounds to be honest with you. I’m not very good about the tracking and inputing my food and water intake, but for an insomniac, the sleep tracking and alarm settings are fantastic and so useful!
I will say that I wish I’d gotten the waterproof one (the Flex 2) because I’d like to be able to track swimming and other such exercises, but I’m still quite content with mine. I would say that overall, it’s pretty accurate with the steps (and the reminders to get up and move around are actually wonderful), but it’s also just having the colorful reminder of my health sitting on my wrist 24/7 that keeps me on track. It’s a constant little prod to eat cleaner and be more active.
I’m not in any way affiliated or sponsored by FitBit (I wish), but I would highly recommend trying it out because I think it’s the perfect way to manage your health at your fingertips.
Cheers to good health,
