So I know we all have those days when we are stressed beyond belief and feel like we could burst from the tension. Once in a while, we all need to have a relaxing night to ourselves that we can use to treat our tired bodies and overworked minds to a nice spa night. Here are my essentials for a pamper night!
Step 1: Draw a bath.
Nothing calms me down like a hot bath with a relaxing ambiance. I like to light a few candles around the bathroom and get a glass of ice water to keep me cool in the warm water. You can add bubble bath, bath bombs, essential oils, or any other bath enhancers (Is that a term? Oh, well. It is now!).
Step 2: Wash your face.
While the tub is filling up, remove all of your makeup and wash your face with your usual cleanser. The steam from the bath will open up your pores, but you don’t want the makeup sinking into those pores because it may clog them and cause acne. Don’t apply toner or moisturizer.
Step 3: Get into the bath.
If I have to explain this, you may be stupid.
Step 4: Enjoy yourself.
You can turn on your favorite play list of tunes, play games on your phone or other electronic device, or read a book (my personal favorite). Basically, do whatever you would like in order to wind down and stay entertained.
Step 5: Go through your normal shower/bath routine.
Go on and shave, shampoo and condition your hair, scrub your body, the usual. If you want, you can use a body scrub to leave your legs feeling like butter!
Step 6: Apply a hair mask.
Now is the perfect time to give your hair some TCL and nourishment. So, slather that goodness on and let it soak in for a while. It will leave your strands silky smooth and feeling replenished.
Step 7: Get out of the tub and towel off.
Again, I really don’t want to explain this to you.
Step 8: Apply a face mask.
Use whatever face mask you like, if your skin is dry, use one with hydrating properties; if your skin is oily, use one with mattifying ingredients; if your skin is ance-prone, use a mask made for blemish control; and so on and so forth.
Step 9: Moisturize your body.
Slap on your most hydrating body lotion or body butter and let your skin drink in the moisture and leave it soft and supple (Like a baby’s butt! I never understood that phrase…).
Step 10: Paint your nails.
Do your fingers and toes in your favorite color. You can do something light and natural for a cleaner look or something vibrant for a more colorful, bright look.
Step 11: Rinse off your mask and finish your normal skin care routine.
Once you wash off your mask, apply your usual toner, moisturizer, etc., so that you can remain consistent.
Step 12: Call it an early night.
Have a cup of tea and watch a chick flick or catch up on your favorite series before turning in early.
I hope you all enjoyed my tips for your pampering night! Let me know what you do to relax and treat yourself!
