So, I have done a little shop of shopping and picked up a handful of new beauty products, some of which I’ve tried and some of which I haven’t. Without further ado, here we go!
Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask
I’ve tried a few sample pots of this mask because I wanted to know if I would have any sensitivity to it before I splurged the $25 for it, which for some people, may not be a lot, but for me, is a bit heavy-handed. This is mask, which I’ve used a fair few times in the last couple of weeks, is absolutely amazing! I have super dry skin, as well as acne, and this stuff makes my face feel supple and plump and hydrated, utterly illuminating the dry patches and tightness that typically plagues me! I love it and it is one of those Holy Grail products that I think is well worth the money. I’ll post a full review soon!
Smashbox Studio Faves Kit
This is a kit of miniature versions of all the top-sellers from Smashbox Cosmetics. Truthfully, I’m rather new to the Smashbox brand because a lot of the products they’re known for happen to be their primers, which contain silica, which I’m sensitive to. I decided it was high time I tried out a few things, so when I saw this kit as the 500 point perk at Sephora, I jumped on the deal. The kit includes the following:
– SMASHBOX Photo Finish Foundation Primer Light (0.25 fl.oz)
– SMASHBOX Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer (0.17 fl.oz)
– SMASHBOX Full Exposure Mascara (0.14 fl.oz)
– SMASHBOX Be Legendary Lip Gloss in Disco Rose (0.13 fl.oz)
– SMASHBOX Full Exposure Eye Shadow Duo in M3 & S3 (0.06 oz)
The Be Legendary Lip Gloss in Disco Rose is a lovely strawberry pink-red that look really good on its own, but also layered on top of lipsticks and it isn’t too stick, which is nice! The eye shadow duo is what actually made me want the kit. There is a gorgeous rosy-toned gold and a lovely, neutral-toned light-medium brown (it reminds me a ton of Urban Decay’s eye shadow in Naked). It’s basically a complete day look in and of itself. I’m really excited to try the other products and I’ll let you know if any of them stand out!
Makeup Forever Aqua Rouge Liquid Lip Color in Burgundy (#9)
I wanted an everything-proof red lip for the fall season (bold lips have been my thing as of late) and I researched this product after reading a good review from xovain.com and decided it was worth giving it a shot. Because I’ve been in search of such a product for a while, I was willing (or semi-willing) to fork over the $24 for it, but I’ve been really pleased with it so far. Let me know if you want a full review!
L’Oreal True Match Foundation
This is a repurchase, but I wanted to retry it after watching Shaaanxo on YouTube rave about it endlessly (along with everyone else and their mother) but I’m still a little unsure on it. It’s a very watery foundation with a very liquid-y consistency, but it blends pretty seamlessly into the skin, so I’ll letcha know after some more extensive trials!
L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Foundation
There was a L’Oreal deal going on at Ulta, so don’t judge me. Anyway, I haven’t heard much hype about this foundation and I DON’T KNOW WHY! It’s wonderful! It’s a light-medium coverage, but it feels so nice on the skin and blurs out imperfections (I still use concealer, but that’s a personal skin issue/preference.) It is quite hydrating and smooths onto the skin like silk. The staying power isn’t bad either, especially with powder on top and it is a lightweight formula that you don’t really feel on your skin, which I love! I’ll review this in its entirety soon enough!
Essence Eyebrow Designer Pencil
This basically a bog-standard eyebrow pencil, but I wanted one to just toss into my bag and have with me. I was getting sick of the time-consuming nature of brow powders, so I picked this up in the blonde shade because I tend to go a little lighter with my brows to keep it looking natural and realistic, but I have no complaints thus far!
I hope you all are having an awesome start to your autumn days and let me know what kind of blog posts and videos you’d like to see in the upcoming months!
