So we all get into makeup slumps where we feel like we’re just repeating the same old routine day in and day out. I hit this point a few weeks ago and I’ve found several methods of changing it up and climbing out of the abyss of repetitiveness.
1. Dark Lips (or light lips) – If you tend to reach for the lighter lip colors (pinks, light corals, etc.) then try to use a deeper shade that you still feel comfortable in. It is just a fun way to be a little more spunky. You can do the inverse if you tend to pick darker colors!
2. Winged Liner (or a different type of liner) – Winged eye liner has been my way to getting out of the loop I was in. You can keep it really down played or you can do a big, dramatic cat eye (if you are daring enough), depending on your level of comfort. If you are already big on winged liner, try using a colored eye liner or going more bold with your lines or adding an eye shadow.
3. Change Your Brows – If you tend to shy away from bold brows, give them a go! You’ be amazed at how much of a difference brows can make in your overall look. Or it you tend to be a little bolder, try lightening it up or changing the shape of them.
I hope you try a few of these ideas and escape your makeup slump!
