Long time, no chat. Actually, it’s really only been a couple of weeks, but it feels like a long time has passed. I know in my last In Real Life Post, I discussed the struggles I was facing in terms of college and life as a whole. There have been numerous hurdles to be vaulted and decisions to be made. I know that as I’ve grown up, my readers/viewers have grown up with me; and that feeling of community and solidarity is unparalleled.
College, no doubt, has been one of the biggest stressors I’ve encountered to date, but I’m extremely pleased to say I’ve made and a few decisions and the future, it seems, has become slightly less veiled and ominous. I’m incredibly excited to announce that I’ll be attending the University of California, Berkeley, for my undergraduate studies. But with that choice has come another: I’ve settled on taking a gap semester.
You all know that I’ve always waxed poetic about knowing yourself and how to take care of yourself. If I can make my bloody editing software work (I, for the life of me, can’t figure out what the hell is wrong with my computer), I filmed a video about it for you all. But I feel like I need some time to rejuvenate and recuperate before I dive full on into my schooling once more, and a semester off seems like the perfect way to indulge that and give myself a long-overdue break.
For all my viewers who have been going through the college process, I’d love to hear about your schools and your experiences! Leave me a comment below and let me know what you’ve decided on!
