I just got the Naked 3 palette this afternoon and I couldn’t really help but post about it because I am so excited for it! It took me about two months to get my hands on the next installment of the Urban Decay Naked series that is lusted after and loved by women (and men) world-wide. I can honestly say that the Naked, Naked 2, and Naked Basics palettes are my most-reached for eye shadows without question, though MAC is up there too (Satin Taupe, Copperplate, and Sketch are my current favorite shades)!
The Urban Decay shadows are all beautifully pigmented, rich colors that have wonderful lasting power and look fantastic on the eye. Urban Decay is my favorite eye shadow company because the Naked palettes in particular have shadows that are buttery soft to the touch and glide on smoothly and silkily. It isn’t an understatement to say that I adore them.
The first palette, the original bad-boy that started the frenzy, was very bronze, with tones of gold and brown as the base for most of the colors, which is good because bronze is a pretty universally flattering shade. The second palette, which I prefer due to my light (snow-colored) complexion and green eyes, is taupe-based, meaning that all the shadows leaned on the cooler side of the spectrum. The Naked Basics palette is very neutrally-toned and nearly all completely matte, which is good for the natural looks that most of us like to sport to work and school, not that the others aren’t just as good for that! The Naked 3 palette, the newest love child of Urban Decay, is rose-toned, going after the look of rose gold. There is a lot of pink and purple in the palette, but it still really wearable colors in the set.
There is good color range in this palette – lights, middle-tones, and darks – and great variation of matte and shimmery colors, which is perfect for creating looks for every occasion. I will post a full review and some tutorials in the coming weeks! Look out for it!
