With the steamy summer months in full swing, smooth legs are on the brain. I have very dry legs and struggle with having dehydrated skin. This is at the top of my ‘to-dos’ to avoid the dreaded “dragon legs” as I have dubbed them.
1. Use a razor that is specialized for moisturizing. There are lots of razor brands that are promoted to help hydrate your legs, so next time you are at the store, make sure you find one with something akin to a moisture strip along the blade! For simplicity sake, waxing may be easier for some, as it is so long lasting.
2. Use a body scrub. To achieve those sexy, soft legs, you are going to want to get rid of dead skin, which will doubtlessly leave your legs feeling refreshed. You can use a pre-made body scrub (I know that The Body Shop’s are supposed to be heavenly, and I happen to be a big fan of the Tree Hut ones) or you could make your one (just use half a cup of olive oil and half a cup of brown sugar and mix together in a bowl). Either way, scrub-a-dub-dub your way to summer legs.
3. Apply a good moisturizer. You are going to want a high-quality moisturizer that is marketed for very dry, dehydrated skin. I suggest one with a more oily base because they tend to be more moisturizing and last better throughout the course of the day. Be sure to apply the moisturizer as soon as you towel off from the bath or shower to ensure that you are locking in moisture. I also suggest reapplying each morning and night if you’re truly committed to the cause!
I hope these tips have helped to spare you from dragon legs this summer, and let me know what tips you have to keep your legs silky smooth!
