Today I have another product review for you! I am going to be reviewing the 25 hour foundation from Rimmel London! So let’s get on with the review!
Claim: “Sweat, heat, and humidity proof for up to 25 hours. Transfer resistant. Skin feels energized and hydrated all day.”
This is a foundation that falls under the category of “long wearing.” I am not too sure if it lives up to the claim of being a 25 hour foundation because I never wear makeup for that long. Ever. Seriously. Don’t do it. Skin suicide. Anyways, this is a very long lasting foundation from what I can tell. I have been wearing this foundation on and off for the past six or so months. It lasts through pretty much everything! Long (wayyy too long) school days, gym workouts, friends houses, dinner parties, rain, wind, surf (I wish!), and everything in between. I really have no complaints as far as staying power!
The coverage of this foundation is medium to full coverage. I would say it really falls as an “almost full coverage” foundation, meaning that it will cover up any redness and most imperfections. However, if you do have acne, concealer may be needed for a particularly evil spot. The coverage stays all day too! With many foundations, even long wear ones, the coverage tends to wane as the day passes. I will say however that this foundation is very thick. A little goes a long way, less is more, and any other related cliches that you can conjure up. It has a heavy feel and cakey appearance when applied too heavily. But if you find your balance with this, it looks very natural and flawless.
You can use brushes with this foundation, but I prefer my fingers. I just dot this all over my face, blend with my hands, then pat it (I know it is weird, but hey! If it works, it works!) in with my hands. This gives the most natural look from what I have found.
The color selection is a bit odd. Firstly, there are not a ton of shades to choose from, which is a bit irritating, but most of the shades works for several skin colors. The colors also appear to be very dark in the packaging and when first applied. But as soon as you start to blend, it looks pretty seamless. Also, the color stays all day, no oxidation!
The price of this foundation is AMAZING! It varies from $5 to $7 at every place I have seen. Not to mention it is avaliable at pretty much every drugstore and most countries!
This foundation is good for everything skin type, on my opinion. I personally have acne-prone, dry skin and this foundation doesn’t really cling to my dry patches or break me out, which I definitely appreciate! This foundation is also great for oily skin; I have talked to some of my friends who have oily skin and have tried this product. However, people with really oily skin may need to set this with a powder. I set all my foundations with a powder even though my skin is dry, due to the climate I live in. But from what I can tell, this foundation works for all different skin types!
