Review: Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eye Liners

in Makeup, Reviews on 06/10/13

Hey girls,

I haven’t done review in what feels like forever! Today, as per the title, I am reviewing the Scandaleyes liners from Rimmel London. I have three colors, brown, purple, and nude, just in case you were curious. Which you may or may not have been.

Rimmel London Liners

I originally picked up the brown one whilst strolling through Target, like you do, looking for Windex, which I forgot, because that’s just how life is. Anyway, I picked it up and decided to give it a whirl, afterall, it was only $4.99 and if I hated it, not a huge loss. Also, I had tried other Rimmel products and had been please, so why not?

Claim: “Long lasting shocking color intensity with kohl Britania High intensity color for an instant color impact Ultra smooth & creamy formula that glides on easily Waterproof, smudge-proof, sweat-proof, heat-proof, humidity-proof and scandal- proof Dermatologist & ophthalmologist tested. Safe for sensitive eyes.”

The first thing that struck me about these eye liners is how akin they are to the Urban Decy 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils. Right down to the formulation and staying power (I have two of the Urban Decay ones in Zero and Mildew). I think that the Rimmel ones are just as good for a much lower price tag, though the color selection is more limited.

These liners are very creamy and glide on the lid nicely with little to no pulling at your lid, which is much appreciated. There is a good range of colors to choose from – I am currently lusting after the taupe shade – and they are cheap as chips, which is a major bonus. That said, these are pencil eye liners and therefore must be sharpened, which I hate doing but realize is a necessity and that I am being utterly ridiculous.

The staying power on these liners is lovely. They last the entire day and don’t move, smudge, end up under my eyes, or fade by the time the long, hot school days are over. I don’t think they last a full 24 hours, but I also steadfastly refuse to wear my makeup that long because it is bad for your skin and I simply don’t want to. The color is very rich, which is great, and even on the waterline I don’t usually feel the need to touch it up.

Overall, these eye liners are great even by high end standards. I will definetly repurchase and purchase more of these and I do believe they are very comparable to the Urban Decay liners that I enjoy so much. Once these bad boys – since they are makeup, would they be girls? I don’t even know… – entered my makeup bag, they haven’t left.

At A Glance:

Price: $4.99-$5.99

Available At: Ulta and Drugstores

Color Selection: Great! There are ten shades that I know of!

Pigmentation: Fantastic!

Staying Power: Lasts all day with no issue

Repurchase: Yep!

Bottom Line: These liners rock and you need them in your life.

I hope you all enjoyed this review and found it helpful! Let me know if you have tried these liners and what you thought of them and if you haven’t or didn’t, then what liner you love!

XOXO,

Gwyneth
