I’ve always been a fan of keeping things simple when I can. I feel like I always have too much to do, too much to remember, and not enough to accomplish it all. To be fair, now that I’m on break, there isn’t much I don’t have time for, but I’ve found myself indulging in the indolence of summer. *cough* I’m being lazy. Super lazy.
For skincare, I’ve been pairing it down to the bare minimum: four products for absolutely everything. Here we go!
Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleansing Gel: I’ve been using this as a gentle cleanser in the morning, and to remove my makeup at night. It is exceedingly gentle and doesn’t dry out my skin. I actually prefer the non-gel formula, but I can’t for the life of me find my bottle of it, so this stuff will totally do the trick.
Olay Daily Facial Cleansing Cloths: I bought these on a whim, but I have to say I freaking love them! These daily cleaning towels come in a pack of 31 for about $10, but they are so large that I actually cut each cloth into fourths, and even that feels a little big, honestly. It’ll last me months! But I use these at night after I’ve removed by makeup or after a long workout. They’re lightly exfoliating and leave my skin really super clean and refreshed.
Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream: This is my favorite, go-to moisturizer. It keeps my spectacularly dry skin feeling fresh and plump despite the sweltering summer heat. I use it morning and night, and I find that it isn’t greasy and doesn’t make makeup application difficult.
Proactiv Refining Mask: I nicked this from my brother forever ago, but I actually don’t use this as a whole facial mask. My skin is much too sensitive for that. But it does make a fantastic spot treatment. I’ve never had perfect skin, and I doubt I will in the near future if only based off of varied hormone levels that are omnipresent across my age group, but this stuff is a miracle worker and my skin is more in-check now than it has been in a long time!
*Pro-Tip: I’ve pretty much stopped wearing foundation all together. I don’t know what I bothered unless I had an event. Nowadays, I shoot for tinted moisturizer or just a little more concealer so that my skin can breathe, and so I don’t feel like I have real makeup on. It’s too hot outside for that!
