It’s been a while since I’ve just sat down and talked to you guys (via the web of course). There has certainly been a lot of changes (good ones!) and things going on in my life recently, which I find to be refreshing, but there is some meditative about spending an evening relaxing and thinking back on how said changes came about. I get a little philosophical… well always, but especially at night.
Firstly, and utterly unrelated, I have found perhaps the weirdest music video (not gonna lie, it’s a little inappropriate) I’ve seen in a while from Flight of the Concords, entitled “Sugar Lumps” so enjoy this:
On to my next typing point (see what I did there?), I got a job! I actually had no real reason for this. I know, I know, weird. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But truthfully, I get bored in the summer months and the position was one I was interested in, so I accepted it and am really enjoying it so far. I am working in a bookstore café near my house, which is honestly one of those quaint things that I’ve always wanted the chance to do. I do actually really like working there and my boss and fellow employees are all lovely. I am not a person who is easily bored, but if I am being honest with you, and I do make a point to do so, I would likely spend most of my summer at this bookstore anyway because I love coffee, tea, reading, and nice people, so the post was really a perfect fit.
The last few weeks of school were tumultuous and rather difficult to handle on both a personal and educational level, for if you were wondering about my absence on YouTube and this site. I haven’t quit or forgotten you all, I simply needed time to recover and screw my head back on straight. I should be resuming videos this week.
I have to admit I’ve gotten rather addicted to English breakfast tea (thanks for that one, Bond Aid) because it is a bit stronger than most other teas, though I love nearly all teas that don’t taste like cinnamon – can someone please explain why cinnamon tea is even a thing? *Shudders* Trader Joe’s actually has a really good EBT blend that I’ve been going for frequently. I’ve also just started in one the Game of Thrones series, but I will attest to the fact that it is quite confusing and takes a fair amount of concentration to get through.
I was inspired by EssieButton on YouTube (watch her because she’s brilliant) to relax and pamper myself tonight. I had a long day at work and I’m sure Father’s Day will be busy, so I just wanted to sink into a hot bath and just go “ahhh.” What can I say? A girl gets stressed. Essie has this very systematic way about her and has these frequent relaxing sessions with nice products and long baths/showers, and I was a little jealous that I hadn’t relaxed properly in a while, so I indulged myself in a cup of tea, a face mask, a hot bath, a good book, etc. just to take the edge off the day. I have to say I actually feel significantly better now, so that’s something.
Also, on a completely unrelated note, I am looking for a super hydrating facial serum that isn’t terribly overpriced, so if you have any suggestions, please let me know!
I hope you’re all doing splendidly and we’ll talk soon!
