So many woman today spend hoards of money on products to make them look younger and procedures to shed off the years from their skin. What if I told you a secret? One that could save you from all of this struggling in your life later on? I can. And I will. Because I am just nice like that.
Yep. That’s the answer to the enigma of anti-aging miracle products. A little anti-climactic, but it absolutely true. The most damaging thing for your skin is the sun. Sunscreen, naturally, shield your skin from the harmful UVA and UVB rays that can lead to burns, skin cancer, wrinkles, and much more. There is a lot of research out now that shows that sunscreen prevents what is known as photoaging. You may be curious as to what photoaging is as it isn’t a common term among us muggles (I had to say it, sorry). Photoaging is the wrinkling, spotting, or loss of elasticity of the skin caused by damage from the sun’s ultraviolet radiation.
Skin cancer is usually caused by UVB rays while photoaging is mostly from UVA damage, so it is vital to find a suncreen that protects your skin from both. Broad spectrum sunscreens do exactly that, protect from both UVA and UVB rays. You don’t have to have the most expensive Dior sunscreen for it to be effective. I personally use the Olay facial sunscreen with SPF 30 that is formulated for sensitive skin. It is, however, very important for your sunscreen to be SPF (sun protection factor) 15 or higher. I really suggest you go for SPF 30 if possible.
If you know you are going to be forgetful with sunscreen because it will simply be an extra step to you, look for a moisturizer that already has sunscreen in it. There are several good ones from Olay and Aveeno, as well as Neutrogena and many other brands.
I will note that no sunscreen can offer complete protection from the sun’s harmful rays and the best way to avoid the damaging effects are to limit your exposure to the sun and also to avoid going out during the hottest times of the day (between ten and two) when the sun is at its highest point.
I hope that you will all find a way to get sunscreen in your daily routine! Good luck!
