Three Face Masks that Slay

in Reviews, Skin on 16/11/18

We all have those days where our skin just couldn’t be any less cooperative if it actually tried. On the days when my regular skin care routine just isn’t cutting it, I turn to face masks to try to ameliorate any skin troubles that are ailing my poor face. Here are the three face masks that slay no matter the circumstances!

  1. Origins Out of Trouble Mask ($28): This white, creamy mask is full of soothing camphor along with zinc oxide and sulfur to target problem breakouts. You can slather this on for 10-20 minutes and see an immediate difference in your skin. My angry face will immediately be less red, less inflamed, and things will just look dialed back. But the real kicker is the improvement over the next few days after. This magic mask drastically improves breakouts, but it leaves my very dry skin feeling soft, nourished, and soothed rather than dry and flaky like some masks. This is my holy grail!
  2. Glossier Mega Greens Galaxy Pack Detoxifying Face Mask ($22): Glossier has recently become a serious go-to brand in my skincare routine. I’ve been using the cleanser, face mask, and moisturizer, along with a few makeup products for a while now, and I have to say my skin has really never been happier with me. I still get problem spots and dryness from time to time, but overall, I’ve seen a lot of improvement with this brand. This mud mask clears out impurities and congestion in the skin while working to balance, condition, and calm it. The white kaolin clay does double duty to cleanse and absorb excess oil on the skin so you’re left with a velvet-soft complexion. I highly recommend this mask for basically all skin types because while it’s mild, it’s effective.
  3. Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask ($28): Yet another Origins product (they’re really just all magnificent), the Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask is absolutely transformative for me. If you’ve ever struggled with really severe dryness, irritation, or chapped skin, this is a god-send. There was a period last year where my face was so dry that I used this mask as a moisturizer every day for over a month, and it 100% saved my peeling, sore, sensitive skin and restored it’s softness, moisture, and bounce. I absolutely love this stuff! It’s thick, but it blends into nothing on the skin so you don’t look like a ghost or a zombie when you go to bed (an especially nice boon if you have a partner). You’ll wake up with hydrated, baby soft skin that you won’t want to stop touching. All my dry-skinned or winter-skin afflicted ladies need this mask!

Let me know what masks you love or are dying to try this holiday season! Don’t forget that face masks make stellar presents for the skincare junkies in your life!

Cheers,

Gwyn
